Asynchronous consultation is a collaborative process where professionals such as therapists, counselors, or educators meet with me to discuss complex cases, share clinical insights, and offer mutual support. It is non-hierarchical, confidential, anti-capitalist and focused on shared learning rather than formal evaluation. Who am I?
My name is Nishita Rao. I hold an MS in Neuroscience with a focus on Behavioral Neuroendocrinology and a BE in Biotechnology, specializing in Brain-Computer Interfaces & Phytochemistry. My academic and professional training spans Sexual Sciences, Neuroscience, Anthropology, Molecular Biology, Behavioral Sciences, Political Science, Linguistics, Dance Ethnography and Ethnomusicology.
I have been extensively trained by the US Veterans Health Administration (VHA) on trauma treatment modalities, Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC), National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) and End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) on forensics, and gender and sexual violence treatment, case interpretations and criminology, Violet on clinical training (BIPOC,TGNC, LGBQ) and Equitable Care Certification (ECC) on sex-worker-affirming trauma-informed care.
